F.G to introduce toll on Nigeria borders

The Federal Government has concluded plans to
introduce toll on Nigeria’s borders with
neighbouring African countries.
The chairman, Concessioning and Tolling
Committee, Federal Roads Maintenance Agency,
Alhaji Mohammed Gusau, said this at the Idiroko
border on Friday when members of the committee
visited for on-the-spot assessment and a meeting
with stakeholders.

Sunday denied a statement credited to Governor
Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State that she asked him
to share the state’s funds with her.
Amaechi had while speaking in Port Harcourt at
the joint graduation of the students of the
University of Ibadan and pioneer graduates of
Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, on
Saturday was quoted as saying that his problem
with Mrs. Jonathan started after he rejected her

keshi: i was not sacked

Stephen KeshiThe former coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi has said that he was not sacked by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Breaking his silence in Ilorin on Saturday over his sacking by the NFF, he argued that his contract with the NFF ended with the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, saying it would be inappropriate for anybody to say he was sacked.
He spoke at the Kwara State stadium during the final of the 28th edition of the All Financial Institutions Football competition.

A man beat his pregnant wife to death

The Enugu State Police Command has arrested a man, Mr. Ozoemena Nwankwo, for allegedly beating his pregnant wife, Ndidi Nwankwo, to death.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, explained that the incident occurred around 10pm on October 17 at Nwankwo’s residence in Akpawfu village, Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State.
According to the police, Nwankwo, who was described as a chronic wife-beater, beat up Ndidi, who was four months pregnant, until she lost consciousness.
