How to manage RAR and ZIP files with RAR for Android

WinRAR has long been a popular compression utility for Windows, supporting both RAR and ZIP files, among others. One of the most useful features of WinRAR has been its support of multivolumes, which let you chop up large archives into smaller volumes for easier handling. Now, the makers of WinRAR have brought RAR support to Android and with it, a set of powerful features.
If your needs are basic, the ES File Explorer app has built-in compression tools that might be all you need. However, if you're a power user and need things like, multivolume support, archive repair, encryption, and several levels of compression, you may want to give RAR for Android a look.
Creating a basic archive with RAR for Android requires just a couple of steps, but advanced users have several options to consider. Under General archiving options, you can name the archive and encrypt the contents, including file names.

 If you swipe over to Advanced archiving options, you can set one of five compression options or no compression at all. This is where you can also set up multivolumes.




The last Options screen allows you to choose a few extra options, including testing the archive once it's finished, and using the BLAKE2 file checksum for data integrity.

You can also go into the menu in the main RAR window to test and repair archives, perform a benchmark, and configure a few general settings.
