Successful treatment of ebola in rivers state

The Rivers state Ministry of Health says the
infected sister of Late Doctor Iyke Enamoah has
been successfully treated and discharged from the
isolation centre.
The sister, Chinyere Enamoah had been infected
with the Ebola Virus Disease while caring for his
brother.
State Commissioner for Health, Sampson Parker at
a media briefing said the successful treatment of
Chinyere justifies the effort of the state government
to combat the outbreak of the virus.
Parker also disclosed that an eighteen month old
baby is currently showing signs of the virus and
being tested at the quarantines centre.
“We have successfully treated and discharged our
first Ebola patient.
“She was positive and she has now been treated
successfully. She is now negative.
“Right now, we have another admission. It is a
child, an infant of 18 months has just been
admitted. He is currently being tested. When the
results are out, we will let you know.
“All hands will be on deck to make sure that we
are prepared for any eventuality,” Parker said.
On the resumption of schools as announced by the
Federal Government, Parker said Rivers state
government was yet to decide on whether the
schools will be allowed to open.
